This is the workshop for you.
The hard part about a photography workshop is finding one that offers a blend between learning how to take great pics, and then actually being able to do it. Some workshops lean too heavy on education while others lean too heavy on just doing the work for you.
This workshop series allows you to learn how to create great shots in exotic locations with fantastic models. This is a three day workshop which helps you to work out some of the kinks in your current workflow and allow you enough time to correct them. The purpose is for me to get to know you, help to fix where you are struggling by one on one shooting critiques, and then set you loose. Here's the itinerary:
Where: Detroit, Michigan
Host Hotel: Delta Hotels Detroit Metro Airport
When: Starts Friday May 31st at 2pm, ends Sunday June 2nd at 7pm. All local times.
Itinerary:
Day One- Focus- Outdoor/Sunny Locations
- HOUR 1- Introduction. Each attendee will then get a 15 minute portfolio review where Jason can see what they've created previously and to gain an understanding of their objectives for the workshop.
- Hour 2- 1 hour shooting demonstration and explanation of techniques by Jason. This will include lighting, posing, communication, use of props, storytelling and more related to outdoor and sunny location shoots. This is like being live during one of Jason's videos. You can ask questions and get into his head as to WHY he's making the creative and technical decisions that he's making on the shoot.
- Hours 3 and 4- Individual Mentoring sessions- each attendee will get a 1 on 1 thirty minute shoot with a model where Jason is observing the shoot, providing feedback and constructive criticism to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the photographer so Jason can help them improve their work. During this time the other attendees will be shooting a different model on their own to practice and get ready for their own mentoring session.
- Hour 5- Food Break
- Hours 6 and 7- Group shoot and Collaboration- this part of the workshop will be a joint collaborative process where Jason and the attendees will work together to combine their creative forces to create something phenomenal.
Day Two- Focus- Interior/Shady Locations- outline is the same as Day 1 but the focus changes to interior and shady shooting conditions and lighting.
- Hour 1- Review of the previous day's work for each attendee.

- Hours 3 and 4- Individual Mentoring sessions for each attendee in interior/shady conditions.
- Hour 5- Food Break
- Hours 6 and 7- Group shoot and Collaboration
Day Three- Focus- Creating YOUR Shot
- Hour 1- Review of the previous day's work for each attendee from both their individual and group shooting sessions.
- Hours 2,3, and 4- We now take all of the lessons learned from the individual mentoring and group sessions and allow the attendees to have their own individual shooting sessions where they can use any lights, props, or their own story lines.
- Hour 5- Food Break
- Hours 6 and 7- FINAL Group shoot and Collaboration- we take all the props, lighting, and ideas of the entire group to wrap up three incredible days of learning with an epic final group shoot and collaboration.
