On Saturday, October 4th, we’ll explore two of the Netherlands’ most beautiful cities in one day: the cozy cheese town of Gouda and the lively university city of Leiden. Expect historic squares, canals, stained-glass windows, cheese & stroopwafels, and to top it off—a big local street market in Leiden. We’ll enjoy lunch in Gouda and finish the day with an aperitivo by the canals in Leiden 🍷.

📍 Meeting Point
Amsterdam Central Station - 10.00 AM
🚆 Amsterdam → Gouda
Train ride ~55 min.

🏛️ Morning in Gouda

• Markt square & Gothic Town Hall
• Sint-Janskerk (famous stained-glass windows)
• Cheese tasting & stroopwafel stop
• Canal stroll through the historic center

🍴 Lunch in Gouda
We’ll enjoy a group lunch on one of the cozy terraces at the Markt.
🚆 Train to Leiden (~30 min)

🌿 Afternoon in Leiden

• Visit Windmill De Valk (optional inside)
• Walk along Rapenburg canal & the university quarter
• Explore the Saturday street market along Nieuwe Rijn (food, flowers, cheese, and Dutch snacks)
• Stroll canals and soak up the weekend vibe

🍷 Aperitivo in Leiden
We’ll finish the day with a relaxed drink & bites at a canal-side bar.

🚆 Return to Amsterdam
Around 7:30 PM we’ll take the train back to Amsterdam (~35 min).
