English Speaking Club - Annual Summer BBQ

If the weather cooperates we will be in Bümpliz again for our annual grill party. No reservation required, just stop by with something to grill, the trimmings and your own drinks. There are often people sharing extra food though. The schedule is as follows:

• Enjoy the afternoon with socializing at 17:00. (Feel free to bring a game or two if you’d like!)
• Grilling starts at 18:00 and ends about 20:15.
• Party ends at 23:00ish (help is appreciated for the cleanup, tables and benches into storage area).
• Directly afterwards, head to the Chilbi

How to get there:
There is no real address for the grill area but it is at the end of Mädergutstrasse
Hint: In Google maps, plug in Mädergutstr. 91 in Bümpliz and in satellite view, the fenced area between the high-rise building (#91) and the red tram is the BBQ area.
Exit the tram (#7 direction Bümpliz), walk forward past the front of the tram and turn immediately right, follow the path and you will see a red metal gate on the right and you will see the grill on the grass.
By car there is a blue zone area in Mädergutstrasse.

Afterwards:
A group always goes to the famous local carnival (a traveling amusement show, having sideshows, rides, etc.), called the Bümplizer Chilbi, which is the largest in the Kanton of Bern.
So plan to come along too!

We are unique in Bern, being an English Speaking bar and social club.

Facilities of the Club include:

• Drinks bar with fair prices
• Free games, including billiard table, darts and table tennis
• Baby Grand Piano and violin, which competent musicians are welcome to play
• English book library – take, return and add collection
