Cork Pictorial Artists

The goal of this group is to be active in creating Pictorial Art.

To organise this by facilitating a unified, close-knit, social, creative group, promoting artistic skill, regularity of working, forming a social, creative bond and ethos.

In practice this could encompass many different activities and mediums of art. At the moment we are drawing outdoor street scenes, architectural buildings, tourist attractions.

We will also do portraits of one another indoors or outdoors. Also figure drawing.

We could also do some art history, philosophy, different art techniques, printing, art selling, internet selling, digital art, model drawing, discuss our art, have exhibitions, etc.

Drawing outdoors and portraiture could keep us busy for 6 months to a year since we meet for just 3 hours a week.
If we later decided to do an extra 3 hours on a different day we could look into the other aspects of art.
Later on if we decide to contribute some money we could hire a room or pay for a model for life drawing.

Membership is open to beginners and advanced for free.

We can help each other a little if requested but there is no teaching involved. All is self expression and self taught, without criticism, which is the best and only way to learn as we are all different and express differently in our own unique way.

As artists can suffer from working in isolation, and to prevent artist's from drifting away from art, which all too often happens unfortunately, it is essential to have a base support group, to help us become strong, determined, persistent, give regularity to our work, and the joy and guidance of doing it together.
