Join us to leisurely kayak and paddleboard where we'll explore the beautiful scenery of Mountain Island Lake. This group is all about enjoying the outdoors, meeting new friends, and having a great time on the water. Kayaks and paddleboards can be reserved at ikayakcharlotte.com for meetup events. We will launch from Neck Road Boat Ramp in Huntersville, NC. So grab your paddle and join us for our next adventure!

Join iKayak Charlotte for a relaxing afternoon & evening on the water with our Sandbar Session Paddle at Mountain Island Lake. Whether you are a first time paddler or a seasoned paddler, this event is perfect for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy the tranquil setting surrounded by nature. We will embark on a leisurely paddle session, taking in the stunning views while gliding through the calm waters of the lake. This is a great opportunity to meet fellow outdoor enthusiasts, share tips, and maybe even spot some wildlife along the way. We will stop at the sandbar where the water is shallow, knee deep, with pristine clear water. There is also a volleyball net if you paddle a little further.
So grab your gear, pack some snacks, and come join us for a memorable evening paddling adventure at Mountain Island Lake. Let's make some waves and create lasting memories together!
This is a paid event where it requires to book a kayak/paddleboard for $35 or the double kayak for $60. But if anyone wants to tag along with their own SUP/Kayak, that is completely fine. You will just need to make sure you bring your own life jacket and paddles.
Date & Time: 5/24/25
We will meet at 1:00 pm to get set up.
We will head out at 1:30pm and will be back by 5:30pm. The sandbar is a 30-45 minute paddle.Where to book: Please book here for the event.
Sandbar SessionLocation: Neck Road Boat Ramp in Huntersville, NC. Please type Duke Access Road, Huntersville, NC 28078 into Google Maps. It does not work on Apple Maps. Please park at the gravel and grassy area. We will not be at the boat ramp.
Equipment Available: We will have 5 single kayaks, 2 double kayaks, and 2 paddleboards, E-Round SUP Go Boat (round paddleboard with a 5 mph motor which can fit 2 people) Please look on our website to see how many pieces of equipment we have available.
Cost: $35 for single kayak, $50 for double kayak, $35 for paddleboard, $150 for Go-Boat.
Weather: In the event that it rains or storms, the event will be moved to the following Saturday.
What to bring: Sunblock, cold water, cool clothing depending on the weather, music speakers if you want to listen to tunes, a charged phone.
What the rental includes: Safety whistle and life jacket. PFD will be required to wear at all times.
If this event does not have enough guest booked, it will be rescheduled to a later date.i
