Details

The refuge has a large wetland complex, several smaller wetlands and vernal pools, and large forested areas which are important feeding and breeding areas for migratory birds and other wildlife.
Formerly the Sudbury Training Annex of Fort Devens, the property still contains dozens of old concrete, earth-mounded World War II ammunition bunkers hidden throughout the woods.

Planning a 3 1/2 to 4 mile walk, starting as a pleasant walk in the woods and finishing with views of a scenic pond. Some gentle hills, but mostly flat. Expect to walk for 2 1/2 hours
