Modern Calligraphy

In the class, we will review how to use your new calligraphy nib holder, Nikko G nib, and Sumi ink. We'll practice the basic strokes and learn how to join the strokes together to form the lower case letters of the alphabet.

For this class, you will need:

calligraphy writing tool - oblique Speedball nib holder with Nikko G nib
- black Sumi Ink (Green lid)
- 2 jars with screw-tight lids for ink and water
- paper towel
- copies of calligraphy paper
- copy of The Basic Strokes Worksheet
- copy of the Lower Case Alphabet (tracing sheets)

- dull tip pencil with soft #4 lead
- straight nib holder with Nikko G nib
