Brazil comes to Leighton Buzzard on June 23rd with a night of Bossa Nova and Latin Jazz, featuring sublime jazz vocalist Georgia Mancio, renowned guitarist John Parricelli and leading bassist Arnie Somogyi.
Award-winning jazz vocalist and lyricist, Georgia Mancio, has consolidated her reputation as one of the UK’s most original, adventurous and multi-faceted new artists.
Her music embraces her Anglo/Italian/Uruguayan background: seamlessly performing in five languages and interpreting the jazz songbook, Brazilian samba, Chilean folk and Italian pop often with her own beautifully crafted lyrics.
World class jazz guitarist and recording artist John Parricelli began his career in 1982 and had soon developed a style that is fresh, strong and instantly recognisable as his own. Renowned as one of Europe's premier guitarists he was one of the founder members of Loose Tubes in the 80's, touring and recording three albums with them.
Bassist Arnie Somogyi is one of the the UK jazz scene's best known bassists. He has led his own band at Ronnie Scott's on many occasions and has worked with jazz legends Art Farmer, James Moody, Eddie Henderson, The Mingus Big Band and Bobby Hutcherson and leading figures in the pop world, including Amy Winehouse, Tom Jones and Charlie Watts.
