What we're about

About Us:

This is an inclusive book group designed to focus on Feminism and gender equality. It is a mixed gender group and LGBTQ friendly. The idea is to discuss the voice, tone, and themes of the book, and to reach out into a wider discussion of Feminism. Meet ups to be held on the second or third Wednesday of every month.

Each month's book will be chosen at the end of the last meet up. All suggestions are welcome. To get you started, you can find a list of ideas here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jID... There will be an optional £1 contribution towards the cost of running the group.

See here as well for 'Project Implicit', designed to measure "mplicit social cognition - thoughts and feelings outside of conscious awareness and control", the goal being to discover your own level of implicit bias, and "to educate the public about hidden biases and to provide a “virtual laboratory” for collecting data on the Internet".

May Book Club - Audre Lorde

The Fat Pug

Hi everyone, what better way to recover from your bank holiday weekend than to come along on Tuesday 28th May to discuss May's book "The Master's Tools Will Never Dismantle the Master's House" by Audre Lorde. As usual, we'll be in the upstairs room in the Fat Pug and start around 7.30pm. Hopefully see you all there! Even if you haven't finished the book (or read it at all!) please feel free to come along as we often branch out into random discussions anyway. Cheers everyone :)
