Events for the day include:
NEW – Renaissance Interpretations of Classic Monsters – Costume Contest: Creativity is king for this new costume contest. Take your favorite ‘bump in the night’ terror and reimagine it into the year 1574. Register at Guest Services any time before 1:15 p.m. to receive your entry number. Mingle at the Kraken Stage from 1:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. for judging and a group photo. Winners announced at 3:00 p.m. (Warning: This contest may be too frightening for children under the age of 13.)
Spooky Limerick Contest: Give us a fright by submitting your spooky and scary limericks to us. Limericks should feature either monsters or magical themes and should somehow feature Bristol – either as a locale, or some of our local characters. The top four limericks will be featured on our Facebook page wherein you – the adoring public – get to vote! The two winners with the most likes will win tickets to visit Bristol this season! Please submit your limerick to bristolfriends@renfair.com before 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30th. Voting will take place on Facebook on Thursday, August 1st!
THEN – join us at the Globe stage at 5:30 p.m. for dramatic readings of the best limericks!
NEW – Children’s Magic Spells Brought to Life: Kids! (Age 12 & younger) With your parent’s permission, come up with a magic spell and what you’d like it to do. Then, email it to bristolfriends@renfair.com before 5 p.m. on Monday, July 29th. Ten random winners will be selected to join us on stage to see if the magic of Bristol can power the spell!
Harry Potter Trivia: Just for fun trivia event.
