What we're about
What this group is about: A men's group dealing with Codependency
Codependency is a behavior in which someone wraps his life around another person in a relationship -- often a person who has issues or problems of his/her own. Codependents make the other person their higher power and give up any power of their own to keep the relationship running, always giving in, cleaning up messes (physical and emotional), and giving of themselves. These behaviors are to control the other person, but in reality they lock the codependent in to a never-ending ordeal of barely holding things together.
We welcome all men. This is an open meeting. No other requirements except that you follow our general rules (see below) and the golden rule.
What we do at meetings:
The meetings are open to all men. They are held like standard 12 step sharing meetings with no crosstalk. You can share on anything related to your codependency, but you should be speaking about and for yourself, not others at the meeting. After the meeting many of us are available for feedback and information.
Meetings time and place:
Every Friday 5:30 - 6:30 pm
Unity Club, 116B W. Broad St, Falls Church, VA.
NOTE: the Unity Club entrance does not face Broad Street; it is on the side of the building housing "Hot and Juicy Crawish", and faces the parking lot. Look for the blue awning that says "Unity Club". Meeting is in Room 2.
In the main lot to the side of our building park only in places marked "Public Parking" otherwise you risk towing. You can also park the next block north on N. Maple St. next to the parking garage. Parking is available in the parking garage for the public after 6:00pm.
