Discover the world of Macro Photography. Join JPI for a macro photo walk to Palma Sola Botanical Park. You'll wander through the 10 acre lush tranquil gardens around the three lakes. Armed with a macro lens, a tripod and a water bottle, you'll explore the ability to make photographs of small items larger than life size. This is for all levels of photographers on practical macro tips on equipment, composition and depth-of-field. Equipment - You'll need an interchangeable lens camera (ILC), a tripod and a macro lens. Optional macro accessories: macro filters, reversing rings or a lenses with macro like capabilities. Optional tripod accessories for use in macro photography: a focusing rail, an "L" bracket and a bean bag. Bring a bottle of water and a decent pair of walking shoes. Also, some set-ups maybe easier with a portable stool to sit on. Field Trip Fee – $75 - You can pay day of the event cash or check. To pay by credit card please call Johnson PhotoImaging (941)[masked] during normal store hours. 30% of the fee is to be donated to the park. *This is a rain or shine event! Additional meeting details will be emailed 48 hours before the event. Refunds – There are no refunds. However, If the event is cancelled then a refund will be issued. Class duration may vary, somewhat, from the designated time - depending on group size, and group involvement. The class has an active participation part and expects full interaction with each student. The goal is for everyone to learn, create and enjoy.
Adobe’s Lightroom software has a unique set of tools that is very popular among photographers. Primarily a multi-level organizer, it also has simple but powerful editing tools for the dedicated photographer. Join Mike Faron, as he walks you through various steps to enhance your photography experience. The class is limited to 6 students and runs 2 hours approximately. Bring your fully charged laptop with a copy of Lightroom. *If you have a version older than the current creative cloud version, contact our education department for a private lesson. Base level knowledge of your computer's filing system, storage locations, and operational shortcuts will go a long way towards enhancing your experience in this course and with your computer system. The JPI Olympus User Group is open to the public and photographers interested in Olympus micro 4/3 mirrorless systems. This a very active group with presentations, field trips and other photo events. There are no fees or dues for joining this group, however some group activities have fees. The group meets once a month on the 4th Wednesday of the month.
