Please join us for an informative session on various programs focused on helping improve the lives of people diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. The event will highlight guest speakers from the Parkinson's Foundation and Boston University's STEPP Lab. Both organizations are doing great work to help Parkinson's patients. In addition, we'll be discussing the specific benefits of Tai Chi in helping Parkinson's patients through meditative movements.
This is a networking and informational session to learn more about these amazing Parkinson's programs. The agenda for the event will be as follows:
7:00 pm - Welcome & General Networking (Light Refreshments)
7:15 pm - Ms. Samantha Cheung, Community Development Manager - Parkinson's Foundation (National organization whose mission is to improve the lives of Parkinson's patients by improving care and advancing research towards a cure).
7:45 pm - Mr. Dante Cilento, Research Fellow - Boston University's STEPP Lab (Treating Parkinson's through advanced research techniques and voice therapies to improve the lives of patients).
8:15 pm - Sifu Calvin Chin, Calvin Chin's Martial Arts Academy (Overview of a specific Tai Chi program targeted at improving the lives of Parkinson's patients).
8:45 pm - Open Discussion / Additional Q&A
9 pm - Additional Networking Adjourn
The event will be held at Calvin Chin's Martial Arts Academy, which is a state-of-the-art martial arts studio located in the Newton Highlands, MA at 66 Winchester Street (2nd Floor). It is a family-oriented establishment and friendly environment, open to people of all ages and abilities with no previous experience needed.
