Society1 in collaboration with Digital Lancashire and Creative Lancashire are hosting their next creative collaboration evening 'Lets Talk …’ on the 21st March 18

The evening is a regular post work gathering to bring Preston and Lancashire creative / digital / aspiring businesses and freelancers together. A creative and inspirational evening of conversation and sharing of ideas and thoughts. Each evening has a topic and guest speaker to get the conversation flowing. This month:

This Month’s topic is ‘Who’s Watching? TV Production in the 21st Century’

Cat Lewis, CEO, Joint Creative Director & Executive Producer at Nine Lives Media, will lead the discussion.Bafta awarding winning producer Cat Lewis will start the evening talking to us about how technology has changed how we consume and what we consume. Cat will discuss what insights we can draw from what we watch on our screens, the impact of media streaming services and the implications for the industry including advertising.

Cat Lewis

Cat Lewis is a multi-award winning Executive Producer and CEO who runs her own Manchester based independent television production company called Nine Lives Media, which she launched in 2007. The company makes documentaries, fact-ent formats, drama documentaries, children’s programmes and current affairs for all the major UK broadcasters and for American channels. Cat has won two BAFTAs, two national Royal Television Society awards, an International Emmy and many other awards. Nine Lives is the largest factual producer in the North West. The company recently won the BBC tender to make Songs of Praise for BBC One from 2017 to 2020, in partnership with the Cardiff based independent, Avanti Media.

Cat is a BAFTA judge, is Chair of the Royal Television Society in the North West and is a Global Ambassador for Manchester. She is former Vice Chair for TV’s national trade body PACT and served on its council for 6 years. Cat was also Vice Chair of Creative Skillset’s TV panel and was on the UK panel of the Creative Industries Federation.

The format of the evening: A post work start 6pm to around 8.30pm.

It is a relaxed and informal group with the aim to get a mix of established and new businesses and freelancers together to share ideas and inspiration. Those with experience can offer guidance, support and mentorship to the young businesses.
