What we're about

The Young Jewish Families Group is so excited to meet you and your little ones at one of our upcoming events! Our events are a perfect introduction to Jewish culture, celebrations, and community for all families with children ages 0-5. Hosted by Congregation Beth Ahabah in the heart of RVA, we welcome families of multiple faith backgrounds, LGBTQ+ families, and families exploring Judaism.

We host a free monthly Tot Shabbat - a musical and interactive Saturday morning Shabbat service with singing, movement, and learning led by Rabbi Scott Nagel. Afterward, parents can enjoy coffee and conversation while tots play!
***During COVID-19 Social Distancing, Tot Shabbat is available to stream on YouTube.

We also hold family inclusive High Holiday Services and family-friendly community events throughout the year. For a complete picture of upcoming programs and events, visit www.bethahabah.org/calendar

As the oldest and largest synagogue in Richmond, Beth Ahabah seeks to build community—among our members; among congregants, clergy and temple staff; and between the congregation and the city at large. We offer a wide range of programming—from interest-based study to a modern vision for Jewish education, to family practice at home and to thought-provoking discussions—that facilitate and inspire lifelong exploration of Judaism and what it means to be a Jew. As a Reform Jewish congregation, Beth Ahabah also creates an inviting space that brings together a diverse membership and encourages congregants to pursue social justice, a core element of our Jewish identity.
