Buenos dias (that's good day in Spanish) -

On 15 May, we’ll be returning to the Hotel Gibbons—despite the name, it’s actually a bar, and many will remember it as the former Jack Hackett’s. For a good number of us, it remains a favourite spot.
From 9:00 p.m., the Canadian band Beija lor will be performing there, free of charge.

Friday Drink has now been running for nine years and has grown to more than 4,200 members. It is not a singles meetup; rather, its purpose has always been to offer a relaxed setting where people can make new friends and, in time, meet again socially.

For those who are new, this gathering at the Hotel Gibbons would be an excellent opportunity to join us. When you arrive, you’ll find us in the room to the far left of the bar. Please feel free to come over to me. I’ll be glad to welcome you and introduce you to others.

Early RSVPs are appreciated, as they tend to encourage others to respond as well.

Greetings and Salutations -

Over the years, it has become evident that the “Wink Band” is our favourite dance band. They will be performing their new repertoire at the Cavern Club on Friday, 29 May — free of charge.

The Cavern Club is a basement bar, much like its namesake in Liverpool where the Beatles played early in their career. It is wonderfully eclectic, with guitars and rock memorabilia lining the walls.

Not only will we have CHEAP DRINK SPECIALS, but we will also have the entire venue to ourselves until 9:00 p.m. as a PRIVATE EVENT.
