Hi everyone,
To accommodate the schedule of one of our oldest members, our next Friday meetup won’t be until three weeks from now. That means that most of us won’t get to see each other until then.
Elle came up with a great idea to prevent such a long gap: “Let’s have a Yum Cha!” she suggested. I agree!
Consequently, our End of Winter Yum Cha will be held this coming Sunday morning, 13 September, at 11:30 .
If you’re unfamiliar with Yum Cha, it’s a Chinese tradition where family and friends gather around a round table for a leisurely brunch. Servers continuously bring small plates of delicious food to the table and, when ordered, place them on the lazy Susan in the middle so everyone can share.
You can order from the regular menu if you prefer not to share your food, in which case you’ll simply pay for your own meal. If you choose to participate in the Yum Cha, however, the total cost will be divided equally among participants, with everyone paying their share at the end.
Thanks to a discount we’ll receive, the cost should be between $25–$30 per person .
If you can’t make our Yum Cha — or if you enjoy it so much that you’d like to attend another one — I strongly recommend joining the Meetup.com Yum Cha group on Saturday, 19 September. Kenny and Tim have been successfully organising this event for years.
Early RSVPs are appreciated so I can book enough tables.
When you RSVP, please “X” out of Meetup.com’s offer to subscribe to its Meetup+ program . You can then RSVP. Also, when you get to the page to RSVP, please disregard any link to purchase tickets , as we do not sell tickets for our meetups.
Hope to see you there!
Best wishes - Michael
