Why can “martial arts” be seen as a metaphor for life, why such a name, and what are martial arts?
First of all, it is not so much about waving arms and legs, but about how to preserve oneself as a human being and take care of close ones. Because a fight does not take place only on the battlefield. It also happens when you are ill, when someone close to you is ill, when a difficult situation arises that throws you out of balance and you begin to feel anger.
Secondly, it is a very dense form of contact in which the body, psyche, and consciousness are involved, where one has to come to terms with oneself and restrain one’s temper and ego.

Why does this event take place — or rather, why do I conduct it,
and what do I want to convey under such a big and loud title?

What is at stake for every person, and what do we come into contact with every day?
— It is ordinary everyday life, filled with routine, tasks, expectations and planning, goals and dreams.
Whether we want it or not, we manifest ourselves in this world and try to structure it in a certain way. But as a rule, we do not always build it the way we would like, without a solid foundation: instead of a stone foundation, we build on sand.
As the saying goes:
“Be careful what you wish for, because it may come true.”
Therefore, in order for a wish to come true the way we want it to, we must be extremely precise and correct in our reasoning and in our concepts.

The world and reality are what happens around us, what we have — or rather, they are the result of our consciousness, which is filled with certain representations. Sometimes we really want to change something, but we do not understand how or by what means. As if we lack tools and skills. And this is not accidental — that is exactly how it is. We prefer to live by habit, on autopilot — this is how our thinking is structured. It is not without reason that people say:
“If you want to get something new, start doing something you have never done before.”

our consciousness consist of:
The image of the world — how we perceive the world, people, and situations. When we understand true nature and see without distortions (that is, when we understand norms, laws, rules, who governs what and how), we begin to understand the properties of the world.
The image of oneself — how we see ourselves and how we manifest ourselves in the world. This indicates that we have boundaries and a certain inner content — specific qualities through which we interact with the world.
The image of the goal — what we want to create, embody, and realize in the world, a world in which we have a representation of ourselves through the image of achieving that goal.
The image of achieving the goal — how we are going to proceed, what steps we will take and apply in reality.
The image of consequences — the image in which we see the outcome of our actions.
As a rule, for most people it either does not form or becomes distorted. That is precisely why many live on autopilot.
During the classes, we worked with awareness and balance. We gained the opportunity to see how we perceive the world, how we manifest ourselves, how we behave when facing problems, stress, fear, when something does not work out. We learn to be adaptive and flexible, to see what we want to do by listening to our body, while not losing ourselves.

My task is, over the course of two hours, to not allow you to act automatically, and to keep you engaged in the process, not allowing you to drop out or start over when something doesn’t work.
Because it is necessary to learn how to adapt to the situation, BECAUSE LIFE KEEPS GOING AND CANNOT BE PUT ON PAUSE, and you cannot step into the same river twice, because the water has already flowed away.
We cannot take the same hit twice. If we took a hit, we took it.
That is exactly the place for learning — not the moment when we want to be a “good boy” for whom everything works out.
In a fight, we cannot press pause and say, “Wait, hit me the same way again — I wasn’t ready last time.”
‘receive a hit’ and ‘take a hit’ have totally different meanings in terms of life situations and mindset.

When we begin to listen to our body and to obey it in a given situation, having accumulated sufficient experience, a volume of observation and attention in contact with ourselves, we can transfer this into life and see:
— what I truly want to do;
— what I want to engage in in this life;
— how I want to build relationships with relatives, close ones, friends, relationships with a girlfriend or wife.
Willy-nilly, boundaries begin to form of how we want to be treated, and as a consequence, our attitude toward others changes. An opportunity appears to see what we say, how we say it, and how it affects others.

And martial art becomes the field through which we can observe how we take steps into one dynamic or another: working with the fear of falling, the ability to take a hit, to strike, to throw, and other things.

Why do I do this and conduct these classes?
Because it brings me joy. And I sincerely hope that it can help someone. By training together, I also learn from you.
