Make a Difference Austin is back! We will do drives for local nonprofits that help our neighbors who are the most marginalized and in need (elderly, runaways, veterans, refugees, homeless, prisoners, animal shelters, etc.) using the nonprofits' webpages' wishlists.
Once an event is posted, we will individually buy a couple of items the nonprofit needs, meet in a few weeks to share a meal and amass the items, and I will deliver everything to the nonprofit during its next business hours. Our earlier Make a Difference Austin Meetup group met for four years and we did dozens of drives for the SAFE Alliance, Family Eldercare, LifeWorks, Austin Pets Alive, Inside Books Project, and many more.
You can also donate cash directly on the nonprofit's website and then join us for our dinner if you prefer to help that way.
Meeting so many kind and generous people during those first four years kept my faith in human nature alive and well.
