Going deep into depth psychology! This group is about helping to encounter and discuss the key concepts of Jungian psychology. Please note this is an purely intellectual and artistic endeavor, feel free to join.

Carl Gustav Jung was a Swiss (1875-1961) psychiatrist and psychoanalyst who is famous for his works on depth psychology and founding of analytical psychology. While perusing an academic career he became acquainted with Sigmund Freud, who regarded Jung as his successor to move the field of psychoanalysis forward. After years their friendship ended, due in part of Jung’s insistence to pursue fringe interests as alchemy, astrology and the occult. Generating concepts such as collective unconscious, ahadow, anima, synchronicity and many more, Jung always had a strong presence in pop culture. This group is intended to explore these concepts to understand them better. Every event while focus on specific concepts as they were introduced by Jung and how they still pop up in current discussions and events.

So you are interested in psychology and especially depth psychology? This is the group for you.

This group and its events are free and will always be free. Anybody can join regardless of background (though some English skills are strongly advised). This is a private endeavor a not affiliated with any organization or company.

“The functions are vehicles for the forces, or influences, or activities, which emanate from those two principles, those two gods, Logos and Eros. And perhaps you can also understand that if there were no principles whatever outside of the functions, one could never hope to detach anything form the unconscious. There must be something which helps one to detach a function, some principle outside which allows one to tear it away from the original lump of unconsciousness.”

There are few things in the psychology of Jung that are as fundamental as the opposites of Eros and Logos and how they share and form every aspect of our psyche up to the point that they can determine the basis of our whole psychology and worldview.

This event will consist of two parts:

    1. A presentation part by me (30-45 minutes), where elaborate on Jung’s ideas about the topic for the event using quotes from his whole body of work
    2. A discussion part about the just presented topic, Jungian ideas or anything interesting that might come up

„The Tarot in itself is an attempt at representing the constituents of the flow of the unconscious, and therefore it is applicable for an intuitive method that has the purpose of understanding the flow of life, possibly even predicting future events, at all events lending itself to the reading of the conditions of the present moment.” C.G. Jung

There are multiple ways how to engage with the unconscious, how to access the psychic structure of reality. One of those ways is Tarot, a card game rich in symbolic language that describes psychological journeys through different aspects of life. In this event we will explore how Jungian psychology fits into 78 cards.

„The inner voice makes us conscious of the evil from which the whole community is suffering, whether it be the nation or the whole human race.“ - C.G. Jung

The list of influences on the 1999 movie hit The Matrix is extensive. Incomprehensibly extensive. From cyberpunk to anime over comic books and philosophy, we will explore motives and concepts that fall very well into line of Jungian psychology.
