RULES FOR THE GROUP
· You must have a picture that shows your face.
· For any event where I have to make a group reservation (dinners), you must cancel within 36 hours of the event if you cannot attend. Failure to do so without an acceptable reason to me will result in your removal from the group. Please do not comment on the event that you cannot make it. It is not helpful and tends to make other people cancel on the event also.
· You are responsible for paying your bills at any event.
· You are responsible for transportation to and from the event. There will not be any official carpooling set up by any host. Since there is no official vetting of members of this group, please do not carpool with complete strangers by asking for rides from someone you have never met.

Monday Bird Migration Evenings at Matthaei Botanical Gardens
Monday, May 12 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pmAnyone want to join me for this? This event is from the Washtenaw Bird and Nature Alliance
******************************************
Join us for a walk through the trails at the Matthaei Botanical Gardens to look and listen for birds during their northern migration. This leisurely stroll will wind through the woods on the Botanical Gardens’ well-maintained dirt paths and will involve ~2 miles of walking or less.
The pond often hosts waterfowl and shorebirds, and the trails will take us through excellent habitat to look for warblers, thrushes, flycatchers, the occasional cuckoo, and other birds that briefly pass through Washtenaw County as they head north to their breeding grounds (and we’ll be sure to take notice of our local birds, too!).All are welcome to attend, and please note that it is perfectly appropriate to attend for only a portion of the walk and depart as needed. New birders are especially encouraged to come along—the very best way to learn more about birds and birding is to spend time in the field. Please join us!
Visit Matthaei’s eBird hotspot page to see what species have been recently seen at the Botanical Gardens.
Leader: James WeirDirections: Meet in front of the main entrance to the Matthaei Botanical Gardens building at 1800 N. Dixboro Rd.
eBird Checklist Signup: If you are attending the walk and would like the eBird checklist shared with you, please give us your email or eBird username here (you may do this onsite well): tinyurl.com/eBirdList
All are welcome and encouraged to join us. New to birding? Bird curious? No binoculars? No problem! There is no better way to learn than to get out in the field with experienced birders that love to help. Plus, you get to meet awesome people. Absolutely everyone is welcome and encouraged to come out. We will have many pairs of quality binoculars on hand for anyone to use. - Cinetopia Film Festival at the Michigan Theater/State TheaterMichigan Theater, Ann Arbor, MI
Cinetopia Film Festival at the Michigan Theater/State Theater
May 15-18, 2025
Michigan Theater and State TheaterI am posting this to see who is interested in buying passes to this film festival. I go every year and love the films. Pre-covid this festival was much larger and spanned many theaters in Ann Arbor as well as Detroit over a 2 week period. Now it is a 3 day festival in Ann Arbor only.
They are selling early bird passes now for a lower price. I have already purchased mine. If you wait too long, you will still be able to get a pass but for a higher price. I am not sure if I will post individual movies for this.
