SOLD OUT! Big House 5K Run / Walk (finishes on the 50-yard line of Mich Stadium)

Come join me in the Big House 5K Run / Walk Race! I plan on WALKING this, but others may want to run with you. After running through the streets around campus, you get to run through the tunnel onto the big house football field where you run across the finish line on the 50yd line. We can all meet on the field to celebrate after the walk/run.
- The 2025 race will take place on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at 8 a.m.
- Registration for the race will open on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026.
The race, owned and operated by the Michigan Athletic Department, has a mission of raising funds and awareness for local non-profit beneficiaries. The race begins on State Street, courses through the University of Michigan’s central campus, then finishes on the 50-yard line of Michigan Stadium.
This typically sells out, so register as soon as you know you want to come.
When registering, you will need to state an approximate time that you think it will take you to finish the race. The time that you put down will dictate where you start. I am going to say 50 minutes since I am walking..
The first 5,000 race entries will be $28
Then, the price increases to $38 until the race sells out.
There is a hard cap of 12,500 participants
Full race entries include:
- Providing a minimum $12 donation to six race beneficiaries
- Race bib with chip for on-course timing
- Tech T-shirt (stroller entries DO NOT include a race shirt
- Commemorative finishers medal
- Complimentary on-course race photos
- Eligibility for overall & age group prizes

There is a hard cap of 12,500 participants; if the event sells out before April 9, 2025, there will be no additional registration made available
