About us

Welcome, all! We are a group of Portuguese speakers (lusófonos) that meets on Sundays to: facilitate conversations in Portuguese, develop our speaking skills, and/or just sit around and chat.

The meetups are held primarily in Portuguese. We welcome all levels of Portuguese learners and speakers. The content and language level of each meetup is tailored to our attendees. The dynamic is different each week, which is part of what makes our meetups so fun.

As of January 2026, our regular participants speak Brazilian Portuguese, though all dialects and variants are welcome to join us. As a diverse group, we learn from one another, whether it’s a new slang word or a cool podcast to check out.

We are a kind, tight-knit community meeting since 2022 that is always looking to welcome new members who share our passion for the Portuguese language. Anyone who is interested and ready to join us is strongly encouraged to do so! Please feel free to bring your study materials, notebook, and any language questions you’d like to discuss.

We ask that if you need to have a conversation in a language other than English that you please step away from the table, so as not to confuse the people who are new to Portuguese and do not differentiate between Portuguese and Spanish or other languages.
