Get Acquainted with Honeyspoon:
Influenced by jazz, funk, soul, and grooves from around the world, Honeyspoon has cultivated a unique sound that will get people out of their seat and tapping their feet. This husband and wife duo brings an electric stage presence to an acoustic setting with their genre-bending covers and eclectic originals.
I first met Clare & Josh at the Studio in Lockport at one of the open mics. Josh brings a lot of different and interesting rhythms that Clare navigates skillfully with wonderful vocal melodies. It's a pleasant experiece to hear ballads in the unique way they perform. They released their first full album, "Wanderlust," in 2024 and have performed in various showcases in the area.

Get Acquainted with Nick Scarpinato:
If you're from Aurora you may recognize Nick Scarpinato from the Aurora Farmer's Market, Tavern on Broadway, and Tredwell Cafe where he performed, booked music, and worked as a barista. I got to know Nick well from performing at Tredwell and an open mic at Tavern on Broadway. He is a prolific pop, alt rock artist that brings heartfelt energy and an endearing charm to every show.
Since 2010, Nick Scarpinato has been writing and performing his own songs all around the south suburban Chicagoland area. While studying music at Millikin University from 2014 to 2018, he wrote and released his debut independent allbum "With Regards... from Far Away" in 2018. Then in 2021, after releasing his single "High" in the summer of that year, Nick celebrated his golden birthday on October 26th by releasing his EP "Golden Part: 1". His last release was a collaboration with Invisible Hands on a 4 song ep called "Cup O' My Friends." Since then,
he's been expanding his reach and is excited to continue putting out music he hopes his fans will love.

Hello. I'm your host Jack the Acquaintance. I'm an alt-rock singer/songwriter and an Aurora resident residing in Leland Tower. I've been releasing music and performing shows since 2018. I've released one full album, "I Killed Rock' N' Roll," and two eps, "All I Ever Wanted," and the "Ben's Mile ep". I would define my style as a 2000s Rock' N' Roll sound similar to bands like Jet, the Kooks, and the Black Keys.
I'm an advocate for original music from our local communities. I keep very active going to shows and open mics. I've discovered and been introduced to so many amazing hardworking artists over the years. I began my Acquainted Waves pages and playlisting to help promote the local music. I have playlists on Spotify of all local original music with the BIG playlist close to 72 hours. I hope to bring more of the music community to downtown Aurora at the Artists' Collective. I'm excited the showcase all the outstanding artists and music being created around us.
