# The Thanksgiving Play by Larissa FastHorse

"Larissa FastHorse is a Sicangu Lakota Native American playwright who created a brilliantly hilarious play about the celebration of Thanksgiving. When good intentions collide with absurd assumptions, a troupe of terminally woke teachers scramble to create a pageant that somehow manages to celebrate both Turkey Day and Native American Heritage Month."

Content Warning: This play is a farce about well-intentioned white people grappling with the history of Indigenous peoples. As such, it contains some discussions of anti-Indigenous racism and of the genocide of Indigenous Americans. It contains an episode of anti-Indigenous mock violence. It also contains a mention of suicide.

NOTE: Larissa FastHorse has created this play as purely satire and the content may not be suitable for all audiences. The theme of this show does not reflect the personal or collective views of this group. As the first female Native American playwright to have a show on Broadway, her desire was to challenge the stereotype of Thanksgiving and Indigenous People.
