About the Band & Series

Ricardo Lemvo & Makina Loco will be performing at LACMA’s Latin Sounds concert series on September 5, 2026. The free, outdoor performance takes place from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in Hancock Park

Ricardo Lemvo & Makina Loco are famous for their unique Afro-Latin fusion. They seamlessly blend traditional African styles with Caribbean dance rhythms. When you attend, you can expect to hear a vibrant mix of

Salsa and Cuban Son: High-energy, classic Afro-Cuban dance rhythms.

Congolese Rumba and Soukous: Smooth, guitar-driven rhythms from Central Africa

Angolan Semba and Kizomba: Traditional, celebratory Portuguese-African beats

Lemvo is a multicultural artist who sings in a blend of languages, including Spanish, Portuguese, Lingala, and Kikongo, creating highly infectious party music designed to get the entire crowd dancing

  • Latin Sounds: This is LACMA's premier summer concert series, celebrating world-class artists from Brazil, Cuba, Mexico, and beyond.
