It's supposed to rain on New Year's Eve, so I decided to stay home instead and watch a movie that is connected to the holiday in some way. A Google search yielded a few possibilities, one of which was Penny Serenade (1941), starring Irene Dunne and Cary Grant. Reviewers have described it as a "soap opera", but praised the acting. And when I found out that Grant was nominated for an Oscar and also considered this his best performance, my curiosity got the better of me.

If anyone cares to join me on Zoom, we can view the film, share our reactions, and then ring in 2023 together.

Disclaimer: This is the first time I've ever publicly screened a movie without seeing it beforehand. So please do not take this posting as any kind of endorsement. Who knows, I could end up hating this picture myself! (:-)
