QUEER BOOK CLUB PRESENTS: CHOOSE YOUR OWN LESBIAN VAMPIRE ADVENTURE!

This October chose one of three versions of the classic lesbian vampiric tale, Camilla, to read for queer book club. You can read the original and classic, Carmilla by Le Fanu; The new retelling of Carmilla, Victorian gothic Hungerstone by Kat Dunn; or watch the campy, gay awakening, 2014 YouTube series “Carmilla”.

All are incredible! The original Carmilla by Le Fanu and the YouTube series “Carmilla” from 2014 are free online.

Perhaps you will read more than one? Tis the season after all. We will meet Oct. 23rd from 7 to 9pm at the incredible @boyfriendcoop in the back.

Dress up if you dare! Be careful and don’t look under your bed little lesbians, you never know what sexy and deadly gay vampire may be lurking this month.

Hi all!
Apparently I wisely picked this one a couple of months ago and announced it somewhere- I don't remember doing that but it sounds like something I'd do.

This is a new book getting a lot of buzz (but I haven't read it yet so we'll see). Hopefully it'll be worth our time- or we'll have good reasons why it wasn't!

We'll do casual potluck as usual- hope to see you all there!

We had a great time last meeting talking about spirit companions and Peter the giant cat. For next month we chose to read, The Secret History Donna Tartt

This month we will be reading The Secret History Donna Tartt**

Truly deserving of the accolade modern classic, Donna Tartt's novel is a remarkable achievement—both compelling and elegant, dramatic and playful.

Under the influence of their charismatic classics professor, a group of clever, eccentric misfits at an elite New England college discover a way of thinking and living that is a world away from the humdrum existence of their contemporaries. But when they go beyond the boundaries of normal morality they slip gradually from obsession to corruption and betrayal, and at last—inexorably—into evil.

**At the end of the discussion we can vote on which book we read for next month so bring a queer suggestion.
