Book club #54 - Five Star Weekend & Xmas in July
Details
The Five-Star Weekend by Elin Hilderbrand is a novel about food blogger Hollis Shaw, who hosts a reunion with four friends from different stages of her life on Nantucket after her husband's sudden death. The weekend, meant to be a joyful escape filled with food and friendship, becomes complicated as old feelings resurface and each friend confronts personal crises, including a potential cancer diagnosis, a public scandal, marital issues, and secrets, all while Hollis's daughter films the event for a documentary. The book explores themes of grief, friendship, love, and self-discovery, and a TV series adaptation is in development for Peacock.
Christmas in July is optional! We normally bring a used book wrapped up to swap at the event. If you’d like to participate, please wrap your book to be a surprise!
