AI Adoption Isn’t a Tech Problem…It’s a Trust Problem

AI is moving fast. But people don’t adopt change at the speed of technology, they adopt it at the speed of trust. Across organisations, AI tools are being introduced with urgency. Yet many adoption efforts stall, struggle, or quietly fade. Often, the issue is not the technology itself, but the human conditions around it: clarity, confidence, inclusion, and trust.

In this session, Selina Thompson explores why trust is often the missing piece in AI adoption and what leaders, practitioners, and teams can do differently.
Drawing on experience across global organisations, she will share a practical framework for understanding where adoption breaks down, and how to build momentum in a way that brings people with you rather than overwhelms them.

This is not a technical session. It is a practical, human-centred conversation about what helps AI adoption actually work.

- why AI adoption often breaks down at the human level, not the technical one
- how trust gaps show up through uncertainty, resistance, and low engagement
- a practical framework (TRUST) for identifying where adoption is getting stuck
- a simple method (PACE) for building momentum through preparation, communication,

✨ About the speaker
Selina Thompson is the Founder of Forward Transformation, a digital adoption and AI readiness consultancy based in the Netherlands.
With over 15 years of experience across organisations including Shell, ASML, TomTom, and Nike, she helps organisations build trust, reduce resistance, and create the conditions for meaningful adoption of new technologies.
