Many ancient wisdom practices talk about self-study. In yogic tradition, the niyama of Svadhyaya invited practitioners to study texts as a mirror to their own life. Socrates version of “know thyself” involved examining our own beliefs and seeking true wisdom instead of settling for our own self-delusion as knowledge. Perhaps what precedes an understanding of ourselves is self-awareness. But how do we become self-aware really? And more importantly why does it matter? How do we discern between what is real and what is a story we are telling ourselves? What aspects of self are there and how might we observe and examine them? Join us for this next 5 session series where we discuss a variety of self-study subjects.

During the first session, we’ll lay the foundation for the series by discussing the purpose of self-study. We will discuss a variety of direct and indirect observational dimensions and discuss how they may can help improve the quality of and the joy you experience in life.
