18th September, The Alexandra, Clapham Common. When I did a walk in Clapham Common in 2015, there was no plaque for Angela Carter. But now she has one. On the same street Japanese novelist Natsume Soseki also has a plaque. The Walk also features Benjamin Franklin, William Wilberforce and Graham Greene. We start with John Venn - remember him from school maths?
Clapham Common tube station is surrounded by pubs. "The Alexandra" faces onto the Common. You can play darts upstairs, but it will cost you £8. This is a free event. I will be waiting for you from 7.0 to 7.30, wearing a maroon shirt. The walk starts at 7.30.
