Details

As a professional English language teacher and expert in English pronunciation, I am offering a specialized pronunciation workshop, in which we are going to focus on the sounds of English that are traditionally challenging for Cantonese speakers.

The sounds and phonological rules of our native tongue shape the way we pronounce the sounds, words, and rhythm of other languages, which in turn produces the accent we have when we speak another language.

In this workshop, we are going to explore the consonants and vowel sounds that many Cantonese speakers have trouble pronouncing by first looking at the sounds separately and then in the context of words and sentences. This will bring awareness to the parts of the mouth that are involved in pronouncing the relevant sounds and give you the tools to continue practicing them on your own. Because this is going to be a small group, each participant will receive attention and tips about their pronunciation.

If you’d like to attend the workshop, please…

  • A cancellation less than 48 hours before the workshop means that you will receive $10 of your deposit back.
