ONLINE English Pronunciation Workshop (I) - The Sounds of English
Details
Hi everyone!
As a professional English teacher, I am offering an online pronunciation workshop (the first in the series) in which students of English can learn and ask about those English sounds that they find most difficult. This online version is for those of you who can't attend in person and/or who prefer a later start time.
We will explore:
- How do we pronounce 'th' exactly?
- What's special about 'p, t, k'?
- What is the difference between: 'bait, bet, & bat', 'it & eat', 'more & mole', 'foot & food', ‘ear & year', 'cheat & sheet'?
In our workshop, there will be a presentation on English sounds (consonants and vowels) and students have the opportunity to ask questions about words (and sounds) they find particularly difficult.
If you’d like to attend the online workshop, please take note of the following:
- RSVP, wait for my message and get ready to pay $15 for the event fee via interac/e-transfer.
- Once you've paid, I'll send you the zoom link.
- You will receive a full refund if you cancel more than 48 hours before the event; if you cancel less than 48 hours, you will not receive a refund.
- Sign in 5 minutes earlier into our zoom meeting and wait for your host (me) to invite you into the meeting. If you've never used zoom, download the program onto your computer.
- Make sure to have a good headset with a microphone set up.
- Speak in English to create an inclusive and respectful learning environment.
- Have pen and paper ready to take notes.
- Consider writing down some words and sounds that you find challenging before the meeting.
Minimum participant number 5 people.
Looking forward to seeing you then!
