Dart Stepping Stones Walk

Details
Please read Carefully
This is a longish circular walk of approximately 14km which involves negotiating a number of the trickier crossings of the Dart. Your gonna need a sense of adventure and a good sense of balance, a bit of confidence and possibly be prepared to get your feet wet. The walk involves crossing at least four sets of the Darts famous stepping stone crossings and we’ll be passing two others which are optional. There is also a clapper bridge en route.
This is a beautiful walk, much of which is beside the water and it incorporates three of the dart’s tributaries; both the East and West Darts are included as well as the Swincombe river. During dry warm weather whilst the water is low the crossings are less challenging but they become a little trickier during wet spells. Please bare this in mind, dress appropriately, and remember that you participate in this walk at your own risk. We’ll be stopping for a break or two along the way so bring a little lunch with you to keep you going. We will also be paying a visit to the Forest Inn near the end of the walk.
Advisory note:
This is a not for profit group intended as a social event for people who share an interest in the natural world. You are responsible for your own safety and welfare so please come appropriately dressed for a long rural walk taking account of the prevailing weather conditions. Should you participate in any foraging events, it is your own responsibility to identify to your own satisfaction anything you plan to eat. Some walks may involve an additional degree of physical challenge. If so, this will be clearly stated in the description. If you then choose to participate in these activities you do so at your risk.
There is a small fee of £2 for each walk to cover costs of the meetup page which is currently almost £400 per year and also to cover some minor expenses incurred when reconnoitering walks, mostly fuel and a pint.
