Mushroom Foray (rating 2) easy to moderate

Details

It's been raining and there should be a few interesting mushrooms and toadstools around by the weekend. We'll be meeting at Exeter Cross at the junction with Old Liverton rd. Parking here is roadside.
This will be a proper mushroom foray so once we've said hello and covered a few basics we'll all be going off in opposite directions in small groups of 2-4. You will need to have some means of navigating a penknife and a basket of some kind to carry the mushrooms you find. There is a large area of open access woodland in Liverton as well as Stover Park, Knighton heath and a stretch of the Templar way all within walking distance. After a few hours foraging we'll meet again at 1.30pm back at the junction of Old Liverton Rd where we started out and then adjourn to the Welcome Stranger to examine our catch.
Advisory note:
This is a not for profit group intended as a social event for people who share an interest in the natural world. You are responsible for your own safety and welfare so please come appropriately dressed for a long rural walk taking account of the prevailing weather conditions. Should you participate in any foraging events, it is your own responsibility to identify to your own satisfaction anything you plan to eat. Some walks may involve an additional degree of physical challenge. If so, this will be clearly stated in the description. If you then choose to participate in these activities you do so at your risk.
There is a small fee of £2 for each walk to cover costs of the meetup page which is currently £310 per year and also to cover some minor expenses incurred when reconnoitering walks, mostly fuel and a pint.
