Asian Cafe Express Family-Style Chinese Dinner!

It's been a while since we've been to Asian Cafe Express, so it's about time for a Cheap Eats Cantonese Feast!

Asian Cafe Express is renowned for authentic Hong Kong cuisine, with other regional Chinese specialties represented, too. The menu is amazing, veggie-forward, & seafood oriented (OK, pun intended). Diners are even allowed to bring fresh specialty seafood items for the chefs to prepare!

The service is friendly & impeccable, and it really replicates the Asian regional cafe environment without leaving AZ! The dining tables will be set up to facilitate Yin-Yang coordination of food selections before we order to ensure a variety of ingredients & cooking methods, and, of course, foodie conversation about each course of the meal!

This time, our format is "Family-Style Dining." This means, that, like Dim Sum, rather than individual entrees, several dishes are served at once to be passed around & shared by all at the table(s) - new surprise after tasty surprise!

Cheap Eats is a Culinary Democracy, so each diner does get to choose an entrée from the extensive menu to add to the feast. So that the tables don't get overcrowded or the food gets cold, we'll only get a few dishes at a time. NOTE: The entrée that you choose to share with the table may not necessarily show up in the first course, so enjoy whatever appears at the table - don't wait to indulge!

Be aware that we'll be seated at three separate tables. That means that each group will have a different, unique array of dishes and some variation in the final bill.

In addition to a wide variety of fish, shellfish, beef, chicken, pork, veggies, & noodles - fried, steamed, boiled, & wokked - we'll even throw in soups, rice, fried rice, & even rare Pu-Erh black tea. WOW!

So, this ends up being a very casual meal of several courses, allowing us to savor it all, not just a "Dine & Dash." It will take at least 2 hrs to complete, so please consider dining time into account when RSVP'ing.

For our intrepid attendees, we'll have a memorable, authentic, non-Gringo Cantonese experience! Surely, it'll include dishes that you've never imagined before!

Since it's a "Family-Style"shared event, we'll have the restaurant split the final bill among all the attendees. Individual extras, i.e., non-tea beverages, dessert, takeout, etc., must be paid separately.

The final cost/person should be about ±$20 (up to ±$25) including tax & tip, depending on the number of attendees, so please plan accordingly. They cheerfully accept individual payments, CC or cash.

"Family-Style" w/ bill-splitting is the only way that we can manage this sort of culinary adventure. If that's not OK, then you should wait for a different event, but we'd love to have everyone attend!
