Gloriana Chamber Choir: A Ceremony of Carols - Benjamin Britten

Details
"To celebrate Benjamin Britten's centenary, Gloriana presents a selection of Britten's best-loved Christmas music. A Ceremony of Carols combines traditional carol texts with the unique and beguiling sound-world of harp and high voices. A Boy Was Born was composed when Britten was only nineteen, yet it is a work that makes virtuoso demands on the singers and features his sublime setting of the Corpus Christi Carol. A Hymn to the Virgin is one of Britten's most enduring choral works and Christ's Nativity is a rarely performed gem.
In the superb acoustics of Sacred Heart this program will be a
thrilling and heart-warming experience."
