About us

In a nutshell
Climate cafés are an incredibly simple idea. They’re opportunities to meet with facilitators and talk about our thoughts and feelings on climate change. The organisers provide a space, facilitators, and some cake; you arrive at the start time (good to be prompt if you can), get yourself a hot drink and join in. You can come to one Climate Café or several. Everyone is welcome. There’s no charge.

At a climate café the organisers won’t be giving out any information or expecting you to change your lifestyle or opinions, or do anything except listen and talk with each other.

Why climate cafés?
It can be difficult to talk about climate change with friends and family, and climate cafés are designed to provide a space to do just that - with no pressure, no debate and no judgement.

What’s the background?
Climate cafés in Oxford originated with Low Carbon Oxford North and they are now run and hosted across the UK and elsewhere, with facilitator training provided by the Climate Psychology Alliance.
