What we’re about
Welcome Desert Southwest Adventure enthusiasts!
We are Desert Southwest Adventures, an outdoors meetup group based in Las Vegas, Nevada, but created for folks in all of the desert southwest and beyond. Our goal is to create a group made for those in the region who would like to hike, scramble, climb
learn how to safely shoot guns, compete with firearms, and canyoneer. This group is tailored for advanced hiking, scrambling, canyoneering, mountaineering, advanced firearms use that adhere to the following principles :
- PRO-GUN or at least neutral.
- PRO-TRUMP or at least neutral.
- PRO-BOLT or at least neutral.
- PRO-COURTESY AND RESPECT.
- PRO-POSITIVE MENTAL ATTITUDE.
All are welcome that AGREE to the above ideals.
The ultimate goal of the group is to have organizers around the southwest offer a variety of outdoor adventures. We are NOT tour guides or park rangers or firearm instructors,so you assume the same risk as if you were solo or with a group of friends. This meetup is free of charge but small donations are appreciated to help cover the meetup dues. There will be 3 questions you must answer so that we can assess if this group is what you are actually looking for before approval. That will take a day or two most of the time. This is what we will currently offer, with other activities to be added in the future:
HIKING/SCRAMBLING/PEAK BAGGING - Trail, off-trail, scrambling up to class 4 and low class 5.
BACKPACKING/CAMPING - Multi-day backpacks and/or campsite/dispersed camping for multi-day trips.
CANYONING - Technical and non-technical canyoneering trips.
RAPPELING - Non-canyoneering rappels like big walls and mountaineering.
EXPLORATORY - All the above for trips that are new to members that require route finding and other skills.
WORKSHOPS - Classes that will aid in the skills needed for some of these adventures.
FIREARMS PRACTICE AND COMPETITIONS- occasional training sessions as well as practice and competitions.
Each event will have a description from the organizer on its difficulty and necessary equipment/skills needed. KNOW YOUR LIMITS!
Please answer the following questions upon signing up:
1. On a scale of 1 to 5, what is your "outdoors fitness" level?
2. What are 3 of your most epic outdoors adventures?

Final play of the season is:
## Singing In The Rain
## SHOW STARTS AT 7:35 PM
Tap your toes and sing along in this splashy adaptation of the celebrated and beloved film.
Singin’ in the Rain has all the makings of a Tinseltown tabloid headline – the starlet, the leading man and a love affair that could change lives and make or break careers! In silent movies, Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont are a hot item but, behind the scenes, things aren’t always as they appear on the big screen! Meanwhile, Lina’s squeaky voice might be the end of her career in “talking pictures” without the help of a talented young actress to do talking and singing for her.
If you have never been there before, you are missing out on one of the finest summer entertainment option in Las Vegas. Where the grass is green and laughter, and food, is aplenty.
Sit on the grass (with low-back chair) or in the chair section on a regular chair. The mountains loom behind you. Bring a blanket and whatever you want to eat and drink. People bring elaborate picnics.
If you don't feel like bringing anything, there are food vendors and a concession stand for light snacks. Buying a soda or hot dog will not burn a hole in your pocket because the food is very, very reasonably priced.
