Fortification Hill
Details
This is an excellent trail hike that has a small class 3 climb to get to the top. Once there, it provides amazing views of the surrounding area like Lake Mead.
If you have a High Clearance Vehicle (HCV) that you are willing to drive to the trailhead that will help in bringing more people to the hike.
Meetup Location & time~Choices are, Railroad pass casino under the sign at 8:00am OR in the Vista Commons shopping center at Charleston and Desert Foothills by Mathnasium (see photo) leaving at 7:30am
Side note~We will be stopping in Boulder city at Fox BBQ after the hike.

Trailhead: Along Kingman Wash Road — marked
Distance: 4 miles — up and back
Elevation gain: 1,500 feet
Elevation of peak: 3,657 feet
Time: 3+ hours –up and back plus drive time

Pace: Moderate
It is important to eat a good breakfast before this hike because of the travel distance.
WHAT TO WEAR:
- Hiking shoes with sturdy sole
- Seasonal Clothing
- Sunscreen
- Sunglasses
- Hat
What to Bring (in your osprey or camelback)
- Phone
- Headlamp
- 2-3L of water
- Hiking poles
- Snacks & lunch
- Gloves - helpful
- Small personal first aid kit
