Focus: Play with the Overwhelm

----- Workshop Description ------

Fast scenes, complicated and mind-bending exercises, and intensely emotional moments. When these throw us into utter confusion, stress, or paralyse us, we are not in an optimal state for improvising.
This workshop offers practical methods to deal with overwhelming situations — and even have fun with them. (Spoiler: we don't play Loser Ball!)
Learning objectives: How to enjoy overwhelming scenes and games, instead of being terrified of them

----- About Mayumi Hikida -----

Mayumi is a Japanese improviser and a Certified Mental Health Coordinator based in Vienna, Austria.

With her expertise at the intersection of mental health and improv, Mayumi has contributed to improv communities in Australia and Austria, serving as an Assistant Organiser and Safety Officer. Dedicated to empowering people, she conducts workshops on resilience for migrants, provides consultations on safety in the performing arts, and hosts inclusive jam sessions.

Mayumi teaches internationally across various communities and festivals (e.g. Improfestival Karlsruhe 2025 - Germany, Improvention 2025 - Australia), continuously growing her professional, artistic, and personal network.
