Join us for our July meeting to discuss The Power by Naomi Alderman.

The Power is a 2016 speculative fiction novel where women worldwide suddenly develop the ability to release electrical energy from their hands, flipping global gender dynamics and exploring themes of power, corruption, and societal change. The story follows several characters as this new ability, which manifests in teenage girls and can be passed to older women, upends the world's power structures, leading to a dramatic reversal of traditional gender roles and exploring how power corrupts regardless of gender. The book won the 2017 Women's Prize for Fiction and was adapted into an Amazon Prime series.
