Hot off the press. At last the Citizens is reopening with a major new work, written by playwright Frances Poet with music by composer Ricky Ross, front man of Deacon Blue, will premiere in September 2025. It will launch the theatres first season of on-stage work after several years following a transformative redevelopment of the original building.
Small Acts of Love is a moving play about the bonds of friendship forged between the people of Lockerbie and the American relatives in the wake of the 1988 Pan Am 103 atrocity. The show explores how, over the following 36 years, these two communities built a lasting connection based on love, compassion, and small acts of kindness.
