Speaker #1:

Jason Umiker, Jason is the Sales Engineer for Sysdig in Australia. Before that he held roles as AWS’ Specialist Solutions Architect for containers for Australia & NZ and leading the team at Atlassian running their internal PaaS (Micros) responsible for helping their developers deploy their containers to the the cloud

Kubernetes - what are the common security challenges and how do you mitigate them.

Description:

Kubernetes adoption is on the rise. Multi-tenancy provides many benefits to Kubernetes including cost efficiencies and reduced administrative overhead. However, the default configurations in Kubernetes can expose your tenancy to security risks. In this talk, Jason will demonstrate how the default control plane, host/Node configurations and network isolations can be exploited. Learn best practices and how open source tooling can help to mitigate these risks and deliver a secure multi-tenanted Kubernetes environment.

Vanessa Kong, Cloud Security Engineer at CMD Solutions. With 1.5 years of IT/security experience and an ARN WIICTA 2022 award winner, Vanessa is passionate about ML/AI and DevSecOps.

Razin Idzuddin, Cloud Security Consultant at CMD Solutions. A recent graduate from UNSW with a BSc in Computer Science and a focus on Security Engineering, Razin is a DevSecOps enthusiast who loves all things cloud and security automation.
