Recovery and Soapbox Derby

Details

The primary purpose of Recovery in the City is to foster connections among sober individuals in Portland through shared experiences and active engagement in the city’s vibrant culture and community.

Join Recovery in the City for a day of laughter, creativity, and connection at Portland’s beloved Soapbox Derby! Watch as wildly imaginative, homemade cars race down Mt. Tabor’s slopes in a celebration of community spirit and quirky fun.

This is a free, sober, and welcoming gathering—just show up, be yourself, and enjoy the ride with others in recovery. Whether you’re new to sobriety or have been walking this path for years, you’ll find friendly faces and real connection here.

Some Notes:
* You do not have to attend the entire time.
* You must not arrive under the influence of intoxicants.
* Feel free to bring other friends
* This event is being advertised in other places.
* Check out the other upcoming events at www.recoveryinthecity.com

What brings us together is a shared identity: we’re all in recovery. That shared experience creates an expectation — everyone who shows up is treated with kindness and respect. You don’t have to be anyone other than yourself to belong here.
