Come along for a slightly different kind of pub walk through historic Warwick, combining a good afternoon’s walking with some of the town’s more traditional, characterful and independent pubs.
Warwick has a wonderful historic landscape, and this walk is as much about exploring the town on foot as it is about the pubs themselves. Along the way, we’ll take in some of Warwick’s historic streets and surroundings while stopping at traditional pubs – including a few you may not have come across before.
We’ll meet at 2:30pm at The New Bowling Green in Warwick, our first pub. We’ll have a drink and get to know everyone before setting off on foot. The general idea is to enjoy a pub stop followed by approximately a 20-minute walk to the next, giving us plenty of time outdoors and a chance to see different parts of historic Warwick along the way.
This isn’t intended to be a traditional drinking-focused pub crawl. The emphasis is on walking, conversation, local history and discovering some great traditional pubs in a social setting.
If you’re drinking, my suggestion is simply a half pint at each stop, although what – or whether – you drink is entirely up to you. Non-drinkers are absolutely welcome.
There will also be an opportunity to stop for food along the route, so we can refuel before continuing our walk.
The plan:
• Meet at The New Bowling Green, Warwick, at 2:30pm
• Explore Warwick and its historic landscape on foot
• Visit a selection of traditional and independent pubs
• Discover some pubs you may not have visited before
• Approximately 20 minutes’ walking between stops
• Opportunity for food along the way
• Relaxed, sociable pace
• Drinking is completely optional
Expect a decent amount of walking, plenty of Warwick character and history, some lovely traditional pubs and, hopefully, a great group of people to spend the afternoon with.
Come on your own or bring someone along – it’s designed to be an easy-going way to meet people while discovering another side of Warwick.
Comfortable shoes are recommended, and dress for the weather – we’ll be spending a good part of the afternoon outside exploring Warwick! ☔️☀️
🐾 Dog friendly: Dogs are very welcome to join us, but please only bring dogs that are sociable and comfortable around other dogs.
