Scafell Pike - Corridor Route
Details
Length: 7.8miles/12.6km Time: Around 5- 6hours Difficulty: Hard
Scafell Pike is England's highest mountain, making it a must-climb peak for anyone who hikes regularly in the UK. Without doubt our favourite walk to its 978m summit is the rocky and dramatic Corridor Route, which sneaks in from the north and avoids the crowds ascending via the much busier Hollow Stones path.
The walk is widely regarded as one of the best mountain routes in England, with huge views across to the impressive crags of Great Gable and neighbouring Lingmell.

I have never walked with the group before and/or don't know anyone, can I still come?
Yes! This group is a great way to meet new people, socialise, get out in nature and improve your fitness. We welcome any and all people to come along.
🚗 I can't get to the walk, are lift shares available? There are a few methods to look for lift shares: - Post a comment on the event • We also encourage people that are coming along to offer lift shares to others when possible.
🐶 Can I bring my dog? Yes! Dogs are welcome provided they are well behaved around people/other dogs and kept on a lead/under control in areas where there may be livestock.
⚠️ Some walks may have stiles, and you may need to lift them over.
Scafell Pike can pose a struggle for those dogs that are not used to long distances over rougher rockier terrain, as the summit is bouldery, so we’d recommend that taking a dog up Scafell Pike should be for the experienced hill walking dogs only.
📞 How can I contact the event organiser? Send me a message with queries. It is unlikely the walk leader will read messages on the day, especially minutes before the event starts, so please try to contact them in advance with queries.
