This establishment is owned by Frank and Alyssa Cappello, the proprietors of Taste of Italy and She’s Yar. Their Latham business was recently forced to close indefinitely after its official social media page published a horrific, Islamophobic comment mockingly directed at the tragic death of 7-year-old Harbe Nagi. Bigotry, racism, white supremacy, and evil have no place in our communities.While the owners have shuttered their business to escape backlash, they are not finished facing the repercussions of their own words and actions. We are mobilizing to ensure this hatred is not permitted to simply relocate and open a new storefront under a different name in the Capital Region.Come out to demand accountability and show that hate is never welcomed. Please bring signs, music, and—most importantly—empathy and compassion for the family who suffered the loss of an innocent child."
