Hidden beach. Forest trails. Indian Arm views. This Saturday we're heading to one of Vancouver's most beautiful and underrated spots — Jug Island Beach in Belcarra Regional Park.
An out and back trail through lush Pacific Northwest forest, 5.5km with a modest elevation gain. Accessible for most people with a basic level of fitness. At the end you're rewarded with a secluded rocky beach overlooking Jug Island with stunning views up Indian Arm. Keep an eye out for seals and eagles along the way 👀
And the best part? You can swim at the beach after — perfect for a hot summer Saturday 🏊

Getting there by transit 🚌
Take the Skytrain to Moody Centre Station on the Evergreen Line. From there take bus 181 or 182 to the Bedwell Bay Road at Midden Road stop. The trailhead is right on the north side of the road near the bus stop. Total transit time from downtown Vancouver approximately 1 hour 20 minutes.
Getting there by car 🚗
Enter Belcarra Regional Park Picnic Area in Google Maps — not Jug Island directly or you'll end up at the wrong entrance. It does get busy on nice days so arrive early. Carpooling highly recommended — comment below if you can offer a ride or need one!
