Raíces y Amigas

Hola Chicas! I’ve created this group for Latinas in Minneapolis to unite and form a sisterhood. I'm a transplant who moved here two years ago, and have had a difficult time finding other Latinas to form friendships that aren't through volunteering or a book club. I would love to host socials where we can actually sit and talk and laugh a lot together. Also, learn about each other's cultures, discuss our experiences as first and second-generation Americans, and sometimes do activities that involve giving back to our communities. I have made wonderful friendships with non-Latinas, but I truly miss having women around who get my Bad Bunny references, able to understand having parents who live in another country, or how the political climate impacts our lives directly. The main objective is bringing Latinas together, while also respecting the different ways we exist within that label (Afro-Latina, Indigenous-Latina, LGBTQ…etc.) No racism or prejudices will be tolerated.
